
From mid-November, the City begins to sparkle. Lights wind their way around office lobbies, diaries fill with end-of-year meetings, and thoughts turn to where to gather colleagues and clients for the season’s celebrations. For many in the City, that place has long been HAZ Premier Place — our very first restaurant, and still the one that carries the heart of our story.
A space with roots in the City
Tucked just off Liverpool Street, Premier Place has been welcoming guests for years. It’s our oldest branch, a dining room where countless business deals have been toasted, friendships have been celebrated, and office parties have stretched late into the night. The space itself is flexible — up to 110 guests seated — with a semi-private bar that feels tucked away enough for smaller teams without ever losing the hum of the City outside.
Food to mark the season
The festive menu, at £56 per person, begins with what Turkish dining does best: a table full of mezze. Eight plates arrive at once, filling the room with colour and fragrance. Bowls of hummus rich with tahini and lemon. Babaganoush carrying its smoky depth. Falafel crisp on the outside, tender within. Borek warm from the oven, layers of filo wrapped around soft cheese and spinach. Calamari golden with just the right bite, lifted by yoghurt tartar and a squeeze of lemon. It’s the kind of start that makes a group lean closer, reaching, sharing, talking.
The mains give every guest room to choose. Some go for tradition — a Mixed Grill, lamb chops with a hint of char, or a slow-braised Lamb Shank on a bed of bulgur. Others pick lighter plates: swordfish with chilli and lemon, or a charred cauliflower with carrot and orange purée that balances sweetness with earthiness. There’s comfort too — Vegetarian Moussaka layered with aubergine, courgette, and potatoes, or a Black Angus Sirloin, rich and hearty with peppercorn sauce and crisp chips.
To finish, something sweet: a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, warm and cooling in the same spoonful.
